Bethel Hope is home to anywhere from 30 to 100 children at any given time, located in Juarez, Mexico, with our home office located in Farwell, Tx. Children are brought to us by government officials due to abuse or abandonment, or they are simply dropped off by family members who can't or don't want to keep them anymore. Many have been sexually abused. Broken, we meet basic needs and build trust to reach their souls through the light and love of Jesus Christ. It is not just our goal to keep them alive, we educate and seek to develop the purpose that God puts inside every created spirit. One of the ways we've found that heals broken hearts is through our rescue dogs. Our kids are loved and protected by the very animals that have been left to die on the streets. Several children connect very deeply to different dogs, which in turn leads to taking on the responsibilities of ownership - cleaning up, feeding and wanting to earn money to give their pet toys, beds, coats, etc.
Many of our workers are volunteers. Currently, we are only able to pay each one about $20/wk. Most of them grew up in the orphanage and have stayed on to care for the new little ones. It is definitely a labor of love and has become a family of adoption, just like our eternal kingdom family. At Bethel, we don't send the youth away as soon as they turn 18. Because we are a family, we do whatever we can to help our kids enter adulthood. If that means going to university, we do what we can to provide a way.
